Joining Forces for the Future of Gene Editing: See You in Granada for the GenE-HumDi Annual Meeting!
We are delighted to announce that the countdown has begun for the GenE-HumDi Annual Meeting 2026, which will take place in the beautiful city of Granada, Spain, from May 26th to 28th. Hosted at the prestigious GENYO center (Centre for Genomics and Oncological Research), this gathering represents a cornerstone for our network as we continue our mission to bridge the gap between benchside research and clinical application in the field of genome editing.
A Hub for Innovation and Translation
As part of the COST Action CA21113, GenE-HumDi is dedicated to accelerating the translation of genome-editing (GE) technologies into life-changing treatments for human diseases. This year’s program is packed with insightful sessions designed to foster collaboration across academia, industry, and regulatory bodies.
Highlights of the Scientific Programme include:
- Cutting-Edge Technologies: Sessions on genome engineering developments and novel delivery systems, featuring experts like Marcello Maresca and Axel Schambach.
- Safety and Regulation: In-depth discussions on safety profiling, off-target detection, and the evolving EU regulatory landscape for genome editing.
- Clinical Horizons: Presentations on clinical applications for diseases ranging from Duchenne muscular dystrophy to inherited anemias.
- Keynote Lecture: We are honored to welcome Zoltan Ivics, who will share his expertise on non-viral genetic engineering using transposon technologies.

A vital part of our network is supporting our Early Career Investigators. We look forward to the “Training & Mobility” session, where our STSM (Short Term Scientific Mission) fellows will present their collaborative work and progress. These young researchers are the future of genomic medicine, and their fresh perspectives are central to our success.
